The third year of the Take-Off Foundation’s Scholarship Flying was completed in August, with seven more students carrying out ten hours each of dual flight training in the Scottish Aero Club Eurostar operated by Alba Air-Sports.
The flying went off without hitch in an intensive programme spanning six weeks – quite an achievement with just one full-time instructor and one aircraft. Several of the students are set to return to continue their flying training. Those that do so will join Angus Rutherford, one of last year’s Scholarship students, who is now training toward his NPPL with the help of a Take Off Subsidy Award.
Take-Off are looking forward to another year of scholarships and, given funding, making further subsidy awards to help more young people take to the air and benefit from the skills gained in learning to fly.
