While most PPLs use their license purely for leisure, a few (mostly the more wealthy!) – take advantage of aviation in a much more everyday sense. Their aircraft become a means of travelling from A to B; whether for business or pleasure.

With a greater purpose to their flying comes the requirement for machines with greater capability, particularly IFR certification. Thankfully, many of these aviation “power-users” retain the passion and grass-roots enthusiasm for flying.

Steve over at Flight Chops has posted a terrific video of just such a pilot; a PPL whose requirements (and budget!) stretch to a turbine engine and pressurisation. Delivered in his trademark down-to-earth style, the video demonstrates a few of the benefits, and the complexities, of operating at the top end of the single-engine range.
