Flight planningIt’s time to start making plans for your forthcoming flight. Will your performance be better than ISA? What is your TORA on a wet grass runway? How do I convert Kilograms to Pounds? How many metres are there in a Nautical Mile? – This article will help you!

Please download the Get Into Flight Performance Data Ready Reckoner. This document is designed to be completed using the data from your Pilot’s Operating Handbook, or your Flight School parameters, to assist you in your flight planning.

Will your performance be better than ISA? What is your TORA on a wet grass runway? How do I convert Kilograms to Pounds? How many metres are there in a Nautical Mile? – This will help you!

This Flight Performance Data Ready Reckoner, when completed,  printed out, laminated as a double sided document and placed in your flight bag, will serve you well as a student during your flight training and in the future, long after you have gained your PPL.

Attached are two example documents that were created and used by myself in respect of the Piper PA-38-112 Tomahawk that I learned to fly in at Liverpool Airport and a document that is more currently relevant, to the Piper PA-28-161 Warrior aircraft that I now fly.

Before completing the Flight Performance Data Ready Reckoner , take a look at the example documents. If using the example guides for your own flying , I strongly recommend that you check all of the details against your own or club aircraft, as they can vary. They are provided in a PDF format that will allow you to add the details of the aircraft type that you fly and save at home and also a WORD.docx format, that will allow you to type into the document itself, or should you wish to change any of the parameters such as US Gallons to Imperial Gallons and so on.

Hopefully, this will take some of the strain of calculations out of your planning!

Happy flying from the team!
